Addison approves dispatch and antenna agreements with DuPage agencies; dispatch contract set at $157,188 per year

The committee recommended and the Village Board approved a resolution to continue Addison Consolidated Dispatch Center (ACDC) services for the DuPage County Forest Preserve Police Department at $157,188 per year. Roy (staff member) told trustees the Forest Preserve's calls for service are not as man-hour intensive as other agencies, so the village kept the Forest Preserve in a separate contract model. The dispatch agreement runs May 1, 2025, through April 30, 2028, and the committee recommended approval; the board later adopted the resolution by roll call.
Separately, trustees approved an intergovernmental antenna and equipment-space agreement with the County of DuPage to lease space on the Wheaton Tower (120 N. County Farm Road). Roy said the leased space will help boost a backup radio channel used by the DuPage County Forest Preserve and will provide countywide 800-megahertz backup for ACDC agencies if local systems fail. Because the agreement serves a public interest, Roy said there is no cost to the village. The board adopted the resolution; staff said the agreement will run for five years beginning April 9, 2025.
Both resolutions were passed without recorded opposition in committee and later carried by roll call vote at the Board meeting.
