Addison board approves three-year audit contract with Sikich for fiscal 2026–28

The Village of Addison approved May 5 a three-year contract for auditing services with Sikich to cover fiscal years 2026 through 2028.
Staff said the current audit agreement expires after fiscal year 2025 and that Partner Nick Baba would continue to lead the audit team, although audit team personnel would change. The proposal includes a 4% fee increase each year and contains an optional line item for a single-audit report if the village’s federal funding exceeds the threshold that triggers that reporting requirement. Staff said the single-audit fee would not be charged unless required.
“Kelli” (village staff) summarized Sikich’s performance, noting timely completion of audits and assistance with GASB convergence and accounting guidance. Trustees had no questions and approved the three-year proposal by roll call.
The board did not discuss alternative auditors at the meeting; no dollar totals for the contract were read into the record beyond the 4% annual increase and the single-audit contingency language.
