One commissioner said past attempts to coordinate holiday or event decorations — including asking businesses to display candles in windows — failed because of insufficient lead time and inconsistent participation.
The commission agreed to form an MSF subcommittee to start outreach and planning; volunteers named themselves during the meeting. Commission member 1 asked “Who’s willing to be on the MSF committee?” and two volunteers were named and asked to help schedule a first meeting.
