City Manager Craig told the Sherwood City Council on May 6 that the final two spans of a city bridge will be installed the weekend of May 16 and that Elwert and Kruger Road will be closed from 9 p.m. on May 16 until 9 p.m. on May 17 for the work.
Craig also said crews have been testing lights on the bridge at night and that additional fixtures remain to be installed. He noted the city is coordinating a “Bike and Roll to School” event with Middleton Elementary as part of obligations for a Safe Routes to School grant, and he reminded the council about an upcoming volunteer recognition event at the art center.
No council action was required; the announcement was provided as a routine city manager report. Councilors asked logistical questions, including whether the bridge would be available for any special permitting events; Craig did not provide a permitting decision during the meeting.
