City launches Transportation System Plan update; committee member recruited for citizen advisory committee

City planning staff told the Traffic Safety Committee they have begun the Transportation System Plan (TSP) update process and are recruiting a citizen advisory committee to participate in bimonthly meetings beginning in May. Applications are being accepted through a Sherwood web page and staff encouraged historically underserved populations to apply.
Staff confirmed that the TSP update is expected to take 18–24 months with the formal update work starting in April and advisory committee meetings beginning in May. The update will include discussion of transportation challenges, future needs and potential solutions. Staff created a dedicated email (tspupdate@sherwoodoregon.gov) and web page with application materials and timelines.
Committee members and staff said the update will include community outreach and that the city will identify one representative from the Traffic Safety Committee to serve on the citizen advisory committee. Meetings will be open to remote participation options.
