Commissioners keep 66/34 split, approve contribution increases for law enforcement retirement

Fremont County commissioners voted to maintain the current division of retirement contributions for sworn law enforcement employees—approximately 66% paid by the county and 34% by employees—while approving adjustments that raise both sides’ dollar contributions as the percentage rates update.

County staff presented a recommendation to move the sworn law enforcement employee contribution from about 6.5% to roughly 7.07% and to move the county share from about 12.5% to around 13.73% as part of the multi‑year retirement adjustment.
