With the Wyoming in‑state preference applied, the low bid still remained below the next in‑state bid.
The county’s initial project budget left a shortfall of about $59,581 to complete all four roads; the roads director recommended adding $100,000 from the road construction fund to cover the shortfall and potential overruns so the county would not need to return to the board during construction. Commissioners approved both awarding the contract and the $100,000 allocation.
The work covers Lions Valley, Country Acres, Paradise Valley and Riverview Road; staff said a joint Riverton project and other large projects remain on the list for future budget years.
