City staff told the council on April 7 that Aging Ahead plans to move the senior center from the Elks building to the Knights of Columbus hall in the week of May 5.
Wayne, a parks/departments presenter, said the Knights of Columbus vestibule has been made ADA accessible and that restroom renovations are underway. "They're currently working on the restroom renovations," Wayne said, and staff reported the renovations should be complete by Monday, April 14 with exterior paving and striping to follow the week of April 28, weather permitting.
The city will move tables, chairs, a steamer and an ice machine that the city owns; staff noted the Knights of Columbus hall already has tables and chairs but Aging Ahead asked to use the city's equipment as well. The city also said it will consider offers from the Elks to purchase items the city will not retain once the move is complete.
No vote was taken; the update was provided for council information and planning.
