Board approves $70,036 pay request for Front Street and Pottery Road water‑line work

The City of Washington Board of Public Works on Jan. 28 approved a $70,036 pay request to complete water‑line work on Front Street and Old Pottery Road, staff said.

Kevin, staff member, presented the pay request as a combined final payment for multiple waterline tasks, saying the Front Street replacement — from Market Street to Stafford Street — is likely the largest waterline replacement the city has had in years and that the timing is advantageous because Front Street is being repaved. “That's one of our oldest lines, highest pressure,” Kevin said.

Kevin said the same pay request also covers reinstalling a water line on Old Pottery Road under a prior agreement to extend service to Meadow Lake; the work includes installing a fire hydrant and curb stops so new Don Avenue houses can connect.
