When asked about public involvement, Charles said this is an initial feasibility study and that he does not believe a public comment period is part of this phase; he said subsequent, larger studies would include public interaction and comment opportunities. The study is intended to guide follow-on investigations that would include broader public engagement.
Committee members asked whether MoDOT and Warren County had been contacted about local concerns; Charles said MoDOT had reached out with concerns about low spots and that the corps will look into those areas as part of the study.
