Branson reports 2024 water production of 1.26 billion gallons; no compliance violations reported

City utilities staff told the Board of Aldermen that Branson produced approximately 1,260,000,000 gallons of drinking water in 2024 and that the city had no violations of drinking-water regulations for the year.
Kendall (Utilities) reported that 94% of the year’s water came from surface water (Lake Taneycomo) and 6% from groundwater wells. The system’s peak day in July was just over 5.3 million gallons; Kendall noted the system has roughly 11–12 million gallons per day of permitted allocation and capacity when combining treatment plants and well capacity.
The staff presentation included a consumer‑confidence component required by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Utilities staff said the city had no violations in 2024; the only item on record was a prior administrative issue in which the city’s consumer‑confidence report was provided via a website link that required an extra click to access, which DNR flagged; staff said that form-of-delivery issue has been corrected and no health-based violations were reported.
Aldermen asked capacity and peak‑use questions; staff explained current plant capacities and the potential to expand treatment capacity if needed. The board received the report; no action was required other than to acknowledge the annual report.
