Finance committee unanimously approves full 2025 incentive for Branson Convention Center

The finance committee voted unanimously to award the Branson Convention Center the full 2025 incentive fee, staff said, after reviewing a performance evaluation tied to the center’s management contract.
Committee members reviewed six weighted performance factors: customer and client satisfaction (20%), completion of goals and objectives (20%), improved operating financial conditions (20%), responsiveness (10%), ingenuity and creativity (20%), and feedback from the Chamber and hotel group (10%). Staff said the maximum incentive fee for 2025 is $159,084 and that the center earned the full amount based on the submitted evaluations and peer feedback.
The mayor praised the convention center’s improvements and economic role, noting the facility’s recent performance that reduced the historical subsidy the city once paid. “I am absolutely blown away at the quality and the caliber of our convention center,” the mayor said in the committee meeting.
A committee member moved to award the full incentive as annotated in staff submittals; a second was recorded. The committee approved the motion by voice vote. Angie, a staff member present for the evaluation, briefed members and fielded questions on the scoring and peer reviews.
Committee members described the convention center as an economic catalyst for local businesses and agreed to recommend the full incentive to the governing body.
