Heather Herman, a Branson event organizer, asked the Board of Aldermen Wednesday to schedule a full agenda presentation on Branson’s planned activities for America’s 250 celebration in 2026.
Herman said she spent the day at the State Capitol meeting with Representative Seitz and other elected officials and that state leaders “can’t wait to see what Branson does.” She outlined early concepts that she said would run throughout 2026, including attempts to gather enough American flags in a single destination to pursue a Guinness World Record, painted streets and large-scale patriotic murals, drone coverage and selfie stations, and partnerships with local institutions.
Herman told aldermen she had asked the governor for $200,000 in state support for Branson’s events and that she planned collaborations with College of the Ozarks (proposing a red‑white‑and‑blue ice cream and a stained-glass item), Silver Dollar City and other local attractions. She also said, without providing a formal announcement, that the Thunderbirds have chosen Branson to perform at Branson Airport in 2026 and that those performances were expected in September.
Mayor Marshall and other aldermen said the topic deserved more time; the board and Herman agreed to place a fuller presentation on the next meeting agenda so Herman can show photos, concept plans and a one‑page summary she provided.
