The Trenton City Council on March 3, 2025, approved meeting minutes, reappointed four residents to boards and commissions, approved two land-use resolutions, authorized purchases for the wastewater treatment plant, and approved city disbursements, with most motions approved unanimously.
The council voted to approve the minutes of its Feb. 18, 2025 regular meeting. It also approved the mayor’s reappointments of Peggy Anteo to the City Beautiful Commission; Lisa Salcedo to the Civic Commission; Lauren Jocks to the Planning Commission; and Robert Wade to the Recreation Commission, all with terms expiring March 1, 2028. The clerk recorded an abstention by Mayor Rezappa; the motion otherwise carried.
On land-use matters the council approved Resolution 2025-4, a petition from Jefferson Place LLC to combine and divide specified lots at 223 West Road, and Resolution 2025-5, rezoning 4501 Fourth Street (parcel numbers cited in the resolution) from B-1 and R-3 to B-3. Both resolutions were presented by the city attorney and approved with no further discussion.
Public works purchases for the wastewater treatment plant also received council approval. The council authorized replacement of an impeller for the Van Horn pump at a cost of $9,183, to be paid from capital improvement accounts, and authorized the purchase of a 10-inch roller for a belt filter press from sole-source vendor Andritz at $16,505.64, also from capital improvements. In discussion, Wastewater Superintendent Dennis Wilson said the impeller was discovered to be “severely worn and pitted” during a rebuild and that the new part would restore the pump to rated capacity. Council members indicated they would budget inspections and repairs for other pumps in the coming budget cycle.
Council approved authorized disbursements for March 3, 2025, totaling $793,821.74.
