City announces Gaudi Park phase 1 bid timetable and parking structure demolition schedule

City Manager reported the bid package for Gaudi Park phase 1'which includes a new amphitheater, stage, flatwork and landscaping'would be released on March 5, with an expected bid opening around March 27 and construction anticipated to begin in the second or third week of April.
The manager also said the bid package for demolition of the downtown parking structure would be released next week, with demolition expected to begin in mid-April. The manager framed both items as moving forward on scheduled work to enhance downtown public spaces.
No funding questions or formal motions on these items appeared on the March 4 agenda; the manager presented the schedule as an administrative update. Staff will issue the bid documents and return to council with bid results and recommended contract awards.
