Senate Finance recommends expanding educational television equipment fund to cover public radio

Senator Steinborn moved a due-pass recommendation, seconded by Senator Padilla. The committee recorded a roll-call result of 10 in favor and 1 opposed; Senator Brandt cast the lone no vote.
Senator Campos estimated the likely radio expenditure under the expanded fund would be about $250,000, though he said the bill itself has no fiscal impact and the total amount in the fund was not specified.
The committee’s action advances the measure to the full Senate for further consideration.
