Erath County approves budget adjustments and pays $553,151.47 in invoices

Erath County Commissioners Court approved multiple budget adjustments Monday covering jail facilities, legal fees, human resources, EMS, emergency management, justice of the peace, the county auditor and precinct 2, and authorized payment of invoices totaling $553,151.47.
The county auditor presented six payment packets that together totaled $553,151.47. The packets included a cell-phone reimbursement package of $6,230.00; an FNBO March credit-card bill of $24,008.40 and $0.55; county indigent funding of $77,238.79; two recurring-payable packets totaling $177,741.50; and a commissioners’ court packet of $266,610.13. The court approved paying the bills on a motion by Commissioner Bach and a second by Commissioner Stevens.
County staff also presented budget amendments with descriptions in the meeting record explaining why funds were moved among line items. The court approved the adjustments as presented; staff said the minutes will include the explanations and that the changes reflect routine reallocations within departmental budgets.
With the approvals, the county treasurer is authorized to disperse the funds as listed in the auditor’s packets and the adjustments will be processed in the county accounting system.
