Erath County Commissioners Court appointed Albert Gray as the county’s representative to the Erath County Appraisal District on Monday after the previous representative resigned.
The appointment fills a vacancy on the appraisal-district board that manages the appraisal district’s budget and staffing. The court discussed whether a commissioner should serve and noted the role does not require appraisal-review duties; the board-member position meets monthly in the morning. Commissioners said the appointment will fulfill the remaining roughly 18 months of a two-year term.
Commissioner Buck moved to appoint Albert Gray and Commissioner Stevens seconded; the motion carried with no recorded opposition. The county will notify the appraisal district of the appointment and file any necessary paperwork.
