County opens four proposals for tax-collection software; award delayed for review

Erath County commissioners opened four sealed responses to a request for proposals for tax-collection software. County staff announced the four submissions as: Southwest Data Solutions; an unlabeled submission that appeared to be from Spindle Media; Tyler Technologies; and Catalyst.
The county clerk and auditor said they had not yet completed a detailed evaluation, and the court removed the agenda item to allow Commissioner Valerie and staff additional time to review the proposals. Commissioners scheduled a follow-up meeting (noted in the minutes as Thursday at 9 a.m.) to continue evaluation and discussion of the RFP responses; no award was made at the April 28 meeting.
Commissioners said having four proposals provided useful comparison material, and staff will provide the proposals and evaluation materials for commissioner review before a final award decision.
