The committee introduced an inactive cash funds bill that gives the Controller authority to transfer balances from repealed funds to the general fund and requires an initial report on inactive cash funds in November 2025 and annually thereafter. The motion to introduce passed 6-0.
The committee also introduced a bill concerning Medicaid services related to federal authorizations; sponsors were assigned and staff were given authority to make technical corrections. In separate brief actions the committee placed other packaged bills on the introduction list (a recovery audit contractor program and other items discussed informally).
All motions for introduction on these technical items passed by voice vote 6-0; staff will finalize technical drafting and appropriation language prior to floor introduction.
