Committee sends HB 209 forward after amending to delay effective date

The sponsor noted the bill does not dramatically change fund administration; it requires additional linking to the statutory authority and the administering commission’s website.
The committee adopted an amendment (0.2315230.1) that changes the effective date to December 2025. Ranking Member Chatfield moved a do-pass on the amended bill; the motion carried by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
Proponents said the change would make it easier for citizens who see a fund name and balance online to understand who to contact and how to apply. Several members supported the measure as a straightforward transparency improvement.
