The Tillamook County Board of Commissioners approved Modification No. 22 to Professional Services Agreement No. 3491 with Don G. Averill Recycling Inc. for transfer station operation, transport and disposal of solid waste.
Solid Waste Program Manager Justin Weese told the board the contract’s rate is tied to 80% of the Consumer Price Index. Based on a reported 7.936% CPI change, the 80% calculation produced an increase that equates to roughly a 2% rise in the hauling price per ton; Weese and the clerk’s office read the resulting new hauling rate as $81.39 per ton, effective July 1.
Weese said the county anticipates additional disposal increases will be presented to the board next week. The board moved and approved the contract modification by voice vote.
The modification adjusts hauling rates under the existing contract; the transcript does not include the prior per‑ton figure or the annual tonnage affected by the change but records the new rate and the CPI basis used for calculation.
