The Tillamook County Board of Commissioners approved a contract May 14 with Tillamook Motor Company Inc. for a 2025 Ford F-550 4x4 Supercab truck for the public works department, at a recommended price of $69,767.20.
Chris Lady, Tillamook County Public Works director, said the county put the purchase out to competitive bid and that "the F-550 is the workhorse of our operation." He told the board the vendor will need to order the truck and that the county will later buy and install the service box used to carry cold mix and other materials. Lady said the county needs the truck by the fall season.
Commissioners moved and seconded approval; the board approved the contract by voice vote. Staff noted the county is retaining older vehicles rather than immediately retiring them; Lady said some fleet units are approximately 12 years old, while other equipment dates back to 1974.
Procurement will proceed under the approved contract; the board did not attach additional conditions during the vote.
