Commissioners approve vacation of unnamed alley in Oceanside

The Tillamook County Board of Commissioners on March 26 approved Order 24-014 to vacate an unnamed alley in the unincorporated community of Oceanside.
Jasper Lind, public works engineering technician, described the alley as “a narrow little alley 10 feet wide and 30 feet long that connects Maxwell Mountain Road to Rosenberg Loop.” He told commissioners there are no utilities in the alley and that adjacent utilities are located in neighboring rights of way. Lind said the vacation would benefit neighboring properties for both current structures and future building, and that the county had 100% participation from adjacent landowners in this case.
A commissioner asked whether neighbors have input in the vacation process; Lind confirmed the participation and that Public Works supports the vacation. The board moved, seconded and approved the order by voice vote.
The action transfers the county's right-of-way interest in the described alley and removes county maintenance responsibility; the order was recorded as item 11 on the agenda.
