County approves contracts to replace fence and pave Netarts Community Park

The Tillamook County Board of Commissioners on March 26 approved prevailing-wage construction contracts for work at Netarts Community Park, including a chain-link fence replacement and paving. County Parks Director Dan Kies said the fence contract with Pacific Fence and Wire is for $42,359 and the county hopes to complete the work by June 1.
Kies described the fence scope as 111 linear feet of 5‑foot chain link and 248 linear feet of 10‑foot fence and said project permits were under final review with community development. He credited community volunteers and the Netarts Community Park Association for stewarding the park and securing Transient Lodging Tax (TLT) funds to finance the improvements.
County staff and community volunteers spoke about the long-running local effort to maintain and improve the park. Tim Carpenter and other volunteers who have led earlier phases described ongoing fundraising for a new playground and additional phases of the project. Commissioners praised the public–private partnership and said the improvements will increase park accessibility and amenities.
The board also approved a prevailing-wage contract with SC Paving Company to perform paving work at the park; the motion carried by voice vote. Both contracts were presented as part of a coordinated effort that uses TLT facilities funds and community contributions.
