Tillamook County commissioners approved a services agreement on Jan. 15 with Wellness Health Careers to provide recruitment services for county health positions, county staff said.
Marlene Putman, Tillamook County administrator for Health and Human Services, explained the contractor (doing business as Wellness Health Careers) conducts soft recruitments—outreach and interest interviews aimed at candidates willing to work in rural areas—before county positions are posted on the county employment portal. The agreement sets the contractor’s rate at $35 per hour, not to exceed 20 hours per job order.
Putman said the county pays invoices to Wellness Health Careers and then submits those invoices to Columbia Pacific Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) for reimbursement because the CCO has an interest in ensuring the rural network has sufficient behavioral-health, medical and dental staff. Commissioners described the service as helpful in reaching candidates who might not otherwise apply for government positions, and they voiced support for the partnership.
The motion to approve the services agreement passed by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded on the record.
