Greeley City Council on May 20 approved a resolution authorizing an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the Greeley Urban Renewal Authority (GURA) to cover a funding shortfall for Ironwood Business Park improvements.
The council voted 5-2 to adopt the resolution after staff said bids and a fuller scope revealed additional costs that were not included in the original estimate. Council member Debuti raised the budget gap and asked for an explanation: “we're way over budget on this project. Yep. Almost a 100%,” she said during council discussion.
