Greeley authority approves transfer of Casadores Mexican Grill liquor license

The Greeley Liquor Licensing Authority on April 11 approved the transfer of a hotel-and-restaurant liquor license for Casadores Mexican Grill and Cantina to Red Robots LLC.

The transfer was approved after the applicant, who was sworn and testified about prior restaurant management experience, answered questions about criminal-history resolution and discrepancies in the purchase paperwork. Judge Gonzalez said she would "find good moral character for mister Cano," citing the applicant's experience operating licensed restaurants and concluding the differences between the equitable total and the actual purchase price were explainable.

City staff had flagged a discrepancy in the application packet — the wholesaler affidavit and purchase documentation placement — but the record showed those items were located in the packet during the hearing. City attorney Michelle Sharma confirmed the city had no objection to the transfer. The clerk's office will attach the judge's signature and forward the transfer to the state for final licensing.

Judge Gonzalez also addressed the applicant's temporary license, which the applicant said "I believe [expires] at the end of this month." The judge directed the city clerk to issue an additional temporary license if the state has not returned the permanent license in time so the business can continue serving while the state's paperwork is pending.

The authority's order allows Red Robots LLC to operate under a temporary license until the state issues the permanent license; the clerk will attach the judge's signature and transmit documents to the Colorado licensing authority.

The transfer was recorded with the clerk's office to be sent to the state; no further testimony or opposition was presented at the hearing.
