Mayor John D. Gates moved to table item 13, a resolution authorizing the city attorney’s office to institute legal action against the Town of Windsor, until the April 1, 2025 council meeting. The motion passed on a 5‑0 roll call vote. Council members said the delay would allow further contact with Windsor.
The council opened and then continued the public hearing and second reading of an ordinance to establish a planned unit development (PUD) for approximately 49.056 acres at the northwest corner of 70 First Avenue and 20 Fifth Street. Councilor Hall moved to continue the hearing to the May 6, 2025 council meeting; Councilor McDonald seconded. The motion passed 5‑0. Applicant Jim Else, a property owner referenced in the record, spoke in favor of the proposal and noted neighborhood access and road completion would be addressed by planned improvements.
Finally, the council voted 5‑0 to adjourn into executive session under Colorado law to complete the annual performance review of a city council appointee, specified as the city attorney.
