Davey said one‑third of Massport’s airside bus fleet is already zero emissions and that the authority will continue electrification efforts with MBTA partnership.
Davey said Massport is creating a climate resiliency office, appointed a chief climate and resiliency officer and convened a sustainable aviation fuel working group to pursue supply and adoption of SAF in New England. He highlighted neighborhood investments and community grant programs and said Massport expects passenger growth of about 20% over the next decade, adding roughly 13,000 vehicles per day to tunnel and curb systems unless mitigated by HOV and transit improvements.
Committee members asked about economic sensitivity and tariffs; Davey said Connolly Terminal is less reliant on China than some West Coast ports and that Massport is preparing multiple budget scenarios given economic uncertainty.
Less critical details: Davey said Logan Express ridership reached 2.6 million in 2024 and that about 22% of Logan passengers used transit options including MBTA and private buses.
