Board approves personnel and donation items; retirement and gifts accepted

The Holmdel Township Board of Education approved a slate of consent agenda items and took separate votes on three pulled items.
The board voted to approve items 1–4, 6–24, 26–44 and 46–48 (as read on the agenda) by roll call. The board separately accepted the retirement of an elementary science teacher, Mrs. Beth Ann Griller, effective July 1, 2025; accepted a nonmonetary donation of STEM kits from TeamBonding and Vonage (value listed on the agenda); and accepted a $1,000 monetary donation from the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Program for the Village School. All three pulled items were approved by roll call.
Board members conducted the roll-call votes after the items were read into the record and confirmed on the public agenda which items would be considered that night. The board chair repeatedly confirmed that staff positions included on the continuing employment list were being renewed that evening; discussion of possible subcontracting was a separate agenda issue and was not a vote to eliminate positions.
