Board personnel committee begins negotiations ahead of teacher contract expiration

The Holmdel Township School District’s personnel committee reported Feb. 20 that contract negotiations with the Holmdel Township Education Association (HTEA) are underway ahead of a June contract expiration.
Chris Buckley, who chairs the personnel committee, told the board the panel has met repeatedly to prepare the district’s proposals and “exchanged initial proposals with the HTEA's negotiation team last week.” He described the first bargaining session as “very productive” and said the parties met for three to four hours the previous evening. Buckley said the next negotiation session is scheduled for March.
