Morris County presents Women’s History Month proclamation and ‘Seeds of Change’ award to volunteer Ginger Lucas

The Morris County Board of County Commissioners issued a proclamation recognizing Women’s History Month and the Morris County Advisory Committee on Women presented the 2025 "Seeds of Change" award to Ginger Lucas of Randolph Township for long-term volunteer service.

Donna Boyce, chair of the Morris County Advisory Committee on Women, introduced Lucas and cited a record of volunteer work spanning local food pantries, veterans’ programs, Scouting, Alzheimer’s support and other civic efforts. Boyce said the award honors the memory of the late state senator Leanna Brown and recognizes women whose grassroots leadership inspires others.

Ginger Lucas accepted the honor and discussed volunteer projects that included mail outreach to military service members through Soldiers’ Angels and fundraising and leadership roles for Alzheimer’s New Jersey and FACE New Jersey. Lucas thanked nominators Pam Bennett Suntaro and John Reagan and praised the county’s volunteer community.

The commissioners paused business for photographs with the honoree and members of the Advisory Committee on Women. The board noted the award presentation as part of the meeting’s honors and recognized the committee’s work on Women’s History Month events and outreach.
