Jeff, the town’s building official, said the current short staffing means there may be times the office is closed for brief periods but that staff will “catch up” afterward. Commissioners asked staff to set up a clear notice or procedure for when no one is present at the office.
Commissioners confirmed a new building official is expected to start at the end of the month.
A motion to appoint Shane was made and seconded and carried by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the meeting transcript.
Commissioners said they will follow up administratively to have Shane sworn in so she can begin the case work and routine enforcement duties.
