Representatives emphasized partnerships with state agencies, tourism offices and nonprofit groups; they cited local examples including the Akron Civic Theater, a planned Ohio Buckeye train route and other projects intended to involve arts, veterans’ memorials and local heritage sites. Member questions included whether the commission had produced a compiled recommendations report; sponsors said they would provide that document to the committee.
No committee vote occurred at the hearing. Sponsors said the resolution aims to boost local planning and tourism and to encourage coordination across state agencies and private partners.
