County reports successful electronics recycling and hazardous-waste collections; next events set for June and November

Hunterdon County health department officials reported to the Board of Commissioners on April 15 that recent collection events for electronic waste and hazardous household waste were successful and announced upcoming dates.

What happened: The county’s March 22 electronics recycling event processed roughly 760 cars and collected a little more than 73,000 pounds of electronic waste for recycling, Deputy Director Van Doren told the board. A hazardous household waste collection on March 15 resulted in collection of over 10 tons of waste, including about 4.2 tons of used motor oil and more than 1 ton of flammable aerosols.

Upcoming events and logistics: The county’s next three electronics waste collections (the transcript referenced "the next 3 electronics waste collection") include a June 14 event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Route 12 County Complex (Meriden Township).
