Allen County Commissioners on March 14 approved an agreement with Remedy Collaborative to expand an opioid-awareness media campaign led by the Allen County Coroner's Office.
The coroner (identified in the meeting as county coroner staff) described the "1 Pill Can Kill" campaign and said Remedy — also referred to as Remedy Live in the discussion — will assist with creative design, media placement and provision of chat-line support for people in crisis who respond to the campaign. The coroner said Remedy and county representatives will present the campaign at the Indiana State Coroners Association annual conference in Indianapolis in June, where other county coroners may learn about using the campaign materials in their own jurisdictions.
The coroner noted prior media placement costs for public-service distribution, citing a figure of about $400 per day for placements across various platforms, and said the agreement with Remedy will allow the county to extend and enhance that outreach, including placement during high-audience events and on gaming platforms frequented by younger audiences.
Commissioners commended the coroner’s office for the proactive outreach. The board approved the agreement by motion; the coroner’s office said Remedy will provide both placement expertise and crisis-response support as part of the campaign.
Ending: County staff said campaign details and deployment schedules will be managed by the coroner’s office and Remedy Collaborative under the approved agreement.
