Parkview Plaza Drive resurfacing accepted at $420,492 after $9,425 final reduction

Bill Harmon of the Allen County Highway Department said the original bid was $429,917 and the reduction—about 2 percent—was largely due to an overestimation of surface quantity. Harmon said the contractor was cautious in placing the surface and that the reduction saved the county roughly $9,425.
A commissioner asked whether roads inside the Parkview campus are county roads; Harmon confirmed the developer built the roads, dedicated the right-of-way and the county accepted them for maintenance. A commissioner moved and seconded approval of both the change order and the project acceptance; both motions carried by voice vote.
The board recorded the final project amount and accepted the improvements for county maintenance.
