Mac Construction will close Old Bend Sands for slide-repair; detour, resident access and start date announced

Mac Construction will close Old Bend Sands to through traffic beginning March 3 to allow a slide-correction project, contractor Morgan Nash told the Floyd County Commissioners during their meeting.

The board approved the closure after Nash described the detour route, resident access arrangements and scheduling. "Anticipated start for that closure is March 3. It would run through 2025 upon its completion," Nash said. He described the detour routing: traffic will be directed to Cordon Pike, down into New Albany toward Camp Avenue, over to Old Man Sands and toward Captain Frank for through traffic during closure periods.
