Euclid Board of Control awards demolition contract, approves city requisitions

The Euclid Board of Control on April 21 voted to award a demolition contract to B and B Wrecking and Excavating Inc. and approved six requisitions covering wastewater chemicals, membrane consulting services, investigative databases, training software and downtown landscaping maintenance.

Sealed bids for the “2, 26, 111 demolition project” were received on March 24, 2025, and the board approved B and B Wrecking and Excavating Inc. as “the lowest and best bid received” at $138,400. Director Grogan Myers presented the recommendation, saying sealed bids were received on 03/24/2025 “for the 2, 26, 111 demolition project as authorized by ordinance fourteen-twenty 25.”

Director Putty noted that the apparent low bidder, Pro Quality Demolition, “did not comply with 1 of the bid specifications, namely that they did not do a walk through of the building, a mandatory walk through of the building. I believe it was on March 10 when all the other contractors were there.” The board voted verbally in favor of the award on a motion from Director Bridal Myers with a second from Director Cooney.
