Hamilton Center reports 542 Vermillion County consumers served in 2024; county tax support $186,090

A representative of the Hamilton Center delivered the provider’s 2024 yearly report during the public‑comment portion of the Vermillion County Council meeting, summarizing service volumes, diagnoses and finances for county residents.

Mandy Adams Washburn, program manager with Hamilton Center, said the center served 542 Vermillion County consumers during the July 2023–June 2024 reporting year. She provided a breakdown by age and service type: 187 consumers were ages birth–17, 342 were ages 18–64, and 13 were age 65 or older; 493 (about 91%) of the consumers were at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Hamilton Center reported 15,326 outpatient services (individual therapy, skills training, case management and similar services) and 181 inpatient days for county residents.

Washburn reported financial figures for Vermillion County services: $818,769 paid in salaries and benefits, $365,447 in other expenses, $249,780 for inpatient care, and a total expense of $1,433,996. Hamilton Center said it provided $36,879 in charity care and received $186,090 in county tax support for the period. The center also reported employing 35 Vermillion County residents.

Washburn listed the most common adult diagnoses (generalized anxiety disorder, major depressive disorder, PTSD, bipolar disorder and other stimulant use disorder) and the top youth diagnoses (ADHD, generalized anxiety disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorders and PTSD). The center identified top referral sources as schools, the Department of Child Services, families/self, hospitals/physicians and law enforcement/probation.
