St. Joseph County commissioners approve rezoning and replat to create industrial site for NIPSCO substation

The board asked no additional questions before taking a voice vote. The motion to rezone and to seek permission to replat carried with commissioners voting in favor.
The action clears a zoning and subdivision step; O'Brien and staff indicated future actions will include sale negotiations and any site-specific approvals required by other agencies. The rezoning was described at the meeting as intended to keep suppliers near the Indiana Enterprise Center and to reduce longer trucking distances for parts and supplies.
