The Citizens Police Review Board reviewed a draft brochure intended to explain the board’s role and how citizens can contact it. Board member Stephanie Coleman presented a first draft of content arranged as bullet points and said the priority should be readability and visual appeal so people will actually read it.
Assistant City Manager Carol Rhodes said that if the board approves the content, the next step is for the city’s Creative Services and Marketing team to review the draft for compliance with city branding and for a legal review to ensure it meets any requirements. "If the Board is comfortable with this content, then the creative services and marketing team can... review for grammar, make sure it complies with the city standards, and, create a proposal that is appealing to the eye and, return it to you for your consideration," Rhodes said.
Board members signaled general comfort with the amount of content and agreed to leave final layout and publication to city staff and designers. Stephanie Coleman said the board’s goal was a front‑and‑back card or small brochure with concise bullet points and a link to the board’s website for further information.
No formal vote to adopt final text was recorded; members asked staff to proceed with design and legal review and to return a formatted proposal for final approval.
