Lawrence Common Council approves minutes and claims, tables Feb. 19 vouchers

The Lawrence City Common Council voted unanimously on multiple procedural items during its March 3 meeting, approving the Feb. 19 meeting minutes, authorizing voucher signings and claims approvals, and tabling one set of vouchers pending corrected documentation.
Councilor Chavis moved to approve the minutes from the Feb. 19 meeting; Councilor Robinson seconded the motion, which the council approved unanimously. The council then approved signing of vouchers, approval of claims, and authorizations for payment for January and other items after motions by Councilor Jennings with seconds by Councilor Mazur and Councilor Freeman; those measures passed by unanimous voice vote.
Later in the meeting the council discussed a discrepancy on a cover sheet for vouchers from Feb. 19 and voted to table the Feb. 19 signing of vouchers until the mid-month meeting. Councilor Jennings moved to table and Councilor Kron seconded; the motion passed by unanimous voice vote. The record at roll call showed seven councilors present.
These votes were procedural and did not create new policy; council members asked the controller’s office to verify corrected totals for earlier voucher cover sheets before further action.
