Council tables voucher signing pending payroll clarification

Councilors said they received two voucher cover sheets, one listing $945,292.62 and carrying an incorrect 12/15/2024 date while a second document showed 12/31/2024. Members asked the administration to confirm whether the payroll amounts were duplicate entries before signing the vouchers. One councilor moved to table the voucher approval until the next meeting and the motion was seconded; the council voted unanimously to table the item.
Councilors asked that if the controller or a knowledgeable finance staff member could not attend in person they should at least be available by video so the council can get answers during meetings. The administration said staff would follow up and that the mayor's office is willing to meet with council leaders to address finance questions.
