School board approves waiver to clear title for MLK Head Start building; names business director to ITEP seat

Superintendent Dr. Eloy told the board the waiver would “completely sever any connection the school board has with the property” and allow the Department of Administration to treat the site as surplus so it can be appraised and offered for sale. He said any environmental remediation (including abatement) would likely be reflected in the appraisal and would be the buyer’s responsibility once the state puts the property on the market.
The resolution naming the district business director as the district representative to the Natchitoches Parish ITEP board was presented by the board and approved by roll call. The consent agenda — routine items bundled for a single vote — also passed by voice vote.
