Parish sales tax up 4.3% year-to-date, staff reports

"If you remember when I first started, working here, I said our our sales tax was up, and we're trying to see is it above or and and what we've seen is it hit a new level and it looks like it's holding this 4% historical since 1992," Mr. McNeely said, noting the parish has historically seen roughly 4% growth in tangible‑goods sales tax.
Mr. McNeely told committee members the figures indicate continued local economic strength and encouraged shopping locally as a way to support parish revenue. There was no formal action tied to the report; the item was informational.
