School board approves $425,970 bid for Ponchatoula Junior High gym HVAC, subject to court approval

The Tangipahoa Parish School Board voted to accept a low bid of $425,970 from Gucci Construction Incorporated for the Ponchatoula Junior High School gymnasium HVAC project.

The board’s administration recommended awarding the contract, and the board approved the recommendation after a motion and second. "That is the administration recommendation," said Mister McNeely, the administration representative presenting the item. McNeely added, "This motion is subject to court approval." The board then voted; the motion passed unanimously.

The award covers replacement or installation of HVAC equipment for the junior high gymnasium. Board members asked no substantive questions in the meeting record before the vote. Superintendent and administration remarks indicated other gym HVAC projects across the parish are progressing on staggered schedules, with most expected to finish by September and some in June or July.

A separate bid for Hammond High Magnet School’s gym HVAC was discussed as already approved and contracted in April; no board action was required on that item during this meeting.
