The Tangipahoa Parish Capital Outlay Committee voted unanimously to table consideration of a $492,336 lease renewal for portable buildings from Satellite Shelters pending further review and court approval.
Mister Valruda moved to table the lease renewal to the next Capital Outlay Committee meeting so parish staff could inspect the units for structural soundness and explore other options; he cited particular concern about units "in La Ronja" that may be older. Valruda said he had discussed the matter with Mister Veil Rud (as referenced in the meeting) and that the other official’s team had agreed to examine the units.
Staff warned the committee that although there is time left on the renewal, signing now could incur a penalty if the parish later replaces individual units. After members agreed to postpone, the motion to table was called, voting was opened and closed, and the meeting transcript records the motion as passing unanimously. The renewal amount and the pending court approval were stated on the record; no final lease decision was made at the meeting.
