Morrell cited the South Bend comprehensive plan objective H 1.1 encouraging a mix of housing types. The Board of Zoning Appeals and the Zoning & Annexation Committee brought the bill forward with favorable recommendations; no members of the public registered for or against the measure during the public hearing.
Council members congratulated the petitioner and noted the project’s fit with ongoing infill initiatives in the 46613 zip code. The council voted 9-0 to adopt the ordinance.
